Aiskew, Bedale

Peacock + Smith secured outline planning approval for the development of a mixed brownfield/greenfield site on the edge of Aiskew.

The site formed part of a longstanding allocation in the Hambleton Local Development Framework, but delivery had been held back by access issues. Those issues were resolved by our client and during the application we were able to demonstrate that there was no feasible alternative access option to the use of Bluebell Way through an existing adjacent Linden Homes estate; and that the proposed access would not impede the continued use of Blind Lane. Other issues that arise during the application process included Biodiversity Net Gain, surface water drainage and the proximity of the adjacent Wensleydale Railway Trust heritage train line.
