Peacock + Smith have been advising on the redevelopment of the Sherwood Lodge site in Bolsover town centre since 2011.
Having obtained full planning permission and Conservation Area consent for a new Morrisons foodstore and petrol filling station in 2012; we were appointed by Rothstone Developments in 2016 to secure planning permission for a new mixed use retail development on the site of the former Council offices which had been vacated by the Council in 2013.
A planning application for a new foodstore and retail terrace of 5 units (totalling 4,440 sq m of new retail floorspace) was submitted in November 2017.
Given the site’s location within Bolsover Conservation Area and the original Sherwood Lodge building being locally listed and the presence of a scheduled monument on site; there has been extensive discussions with officers, Historic England and the Bolsover Civic Society to ensure a high quality design is achieved.
