Huddersfield Road, Brighouse

Peacock + Smith secured the allocation of 15 acres for employment use following the promotion of a site through the Calderdale Local Plan.

The site comprised land designed as Green Belt adjacent to the M62 corridor (between Junctions 24 and 25). A key planning challenge encountered through the process was the proximity of the site to a number of Listed buildings at Toothill Hall. This constraint was overcome through the use of a heritage consultant, and the agreement of a no build area with the Council, to ensure that the setting of the Listed buildings would not be adversely affected.
