Peacock + Smith were appointed as planning agent for this major scheme in Walthamstow. Our work included pre-application and community consultation; co-ordination of the application; preparation of the Planning and Retail Statements; advising on technical planning matters throughout, including input on the viability appraisal; and negotiation of conditions and the S106 Agreement.
Peacock + Smith delivered a successful planning outcome on a prominent, town centre site with a number of constraints, in particular its small size relative to the range of value-creating uses required by the Council’s Development Brief. The proximity of existing residential uses created challenges in terms of design, layout and residential amenity. Our role required a sensitive approach to be adopted in discussions with a large number of local stakeholders; third party objectors; and a constructive dialogue with CABE’s design review panel.
