Travis Perkins, Salford

Peacock + Smith secured planning approval for the demolition of all existing buildings (B2) and erection of a Builder’s Merchants with yard and associated trade counter (Sui Generis) to include access, parking, and landscaping on land at James Corbett Road, Salford, on behalf of Travis Perkins (Properties) Ltd.

The site is located within an established industrial and commercial area to the southwest of Salford in the district of Weaste. The site benefits from good access for vehicular traffic via James Corbett Road, which enables connectivity to the A57, the A5063, and the M602. The application was required to consider noise-sensitive uses given the proximity of residential dwellings to the site. Additionally, the proposal also had to demonstrate a Biodiversity Net Gain on site. The application and associated development proposals sought to provide a facility that reflects the operational requirements of Travis Perkins to ensure the continued successful operation of their business within the Salford area.
