Peacock + Smith provided planning advice in support of a full application for the development of 147 dwellings on land in Halton Moor, Leeds.
A key challenge faced in the application process was tree loss, since the site currently accommodates a large number of trees. The development provides for mitigation in the form of extensive off site tree planting, native hedgerow and wildflower grassland in 3 existing greenspace areas close to the site. This will ensure that the development achieves a biodiversity net gain.
The site is located in one of the most deprived parts of Leeds and the proposed development will foster regeneration and a quantum improvement in local housing choice.
