Balham, London

Peacock + Smith secured full planning permission for a mixed-use scheme in Balham, in south-west London comprising 9 residential units through the erection of a roof extension and the conversion of first floor from a nightclub use, including enhancements to front and rear facades. The proposal also incorporated the amalgamation of three ground floor units to create flexible space for retail, restaurant and gym uses in a busy and popular area of London.
The scheme represents an excellent example of a well-designed conversion and extension scheme to maximise potential on an underused brownfield site in London.
The ground floor unit is now occupied by a Co-op foodstore with the residential units soon to be occupied.
