Mixed Use Development Surbiton

On behalf of Freshwater Group, Peacock + Smith secured planning permission for an application to provide 17 residential units and new ground floor Class E commercial space in Surbiton, London. Benefits of the scheme include a ‘home zone’,  communal amenity space on the upper floors and a green roof.

The design was influenced by the Art Deco architectural style of the nearby listed Surbiton Train Station as well as the materiality of heritage assets identified within the neighbouring Conservation Area. The site presented design and technical challenges given its proximity to existing residential and commercial premises, as well as the adjacent railway. The project required extensive pre-application discussions, including a Design Review Panel however it was subsequently approved at Kingston Planning Committee in March 2024.
